George Lancaster is the farmer and owner of Intake Farm, along with his brother Wilf Lancaster.

Biography

George Lancaster is an egg farmer who lives and works at Intake Farm, located near the outskirts of Greendale. He is 49 years of age and has a younger brother named Wilf Lancaster.

On his farm he mostly raises hens, which produce fresh eggs for the Greendale townsfolk.

One time, he helped Pat find the Major's lost toy soldiers, which were found in a rabbit hole just outside his farm.

Personality

In an earlier version of John Cunliffe's original descriptions for the BBC, he was described to be a somewhat large boned, sad looking man. He remains the sole owner of Intake Farm throughout all the series but sticks to his get-up of 2nd hand clothes and un-uniformed appearance. This was changed to him being more cheerful in the series as he seems to have taken on the personality of his brother, Wilf, though with a wide smile instead of being a "sad looking man".

Job

George is the farmer at Intake Farm. He is mainly an egg farmer, but he also has sheep.

Attire

He is usually seen dressed in used clothes that he bought at jumble sales, often ancient suits sizes too small, too big, or in advanced stages of disrepair. He also wears a green beanie cap on his head.

Vehicles

He had tractor which was seen in the book version of Postman Pat and the Magpie Hen and in Postman Pat and the Barometer, Mrs. Goggins stated that he has a van. In the movie, he drives a red tractor

Trivia

  • His hat was worn by Alf Thompson in the "Gran" episode "Snow Gran".
  • Out of all the farmer characters in the series (the Thompsons, Pottages, and Peter Fogg), George seems to have the least amount of roles in most episodes that he appears.
