John Arthur Cunliffe (16 June 1933 - 20 September 2018) was an English children's book author and television presenter who created Postman Pat and Rosie and Jim.
Cunliffe wrote the original Postman Pat books and television series episodes. After the success of Postman Pat, John went on to co-write and present the first two series of "Rosie and Jim". Although uncredited for this position, he was relied upon to be a creative consultant during the new series of Postman Pat. He also released one of his independent stories about Ghosts to IPad. He died of heart failure on 20 September 2018 at age 85 in his home town of Ilkley, West Yorkshire. Confirmation of his death was not made public outside of Ilkley until September 27th.
