Peter Fogg (nicknamed Pete or simply called Peter) is the farm hand at Greendale Farm, and the Pottages' shepherd and is a close friend of Pat.
Biography
Peter Fogg is a farmer who is a young adult at 21 years of age. He works for the Pottages as their farm hand and shepherd and occasionally helps out with other farmers in Greendale. He has a girlfriend, later wife named Jenny Fogg and a daughter named Caroline, who was born on Christmas.
Outside of his work time, he likes playing the guitar. He took classes in Pencaster in the hope that some day, he would become a sucessful guitarist on television.
He also has a motorbike and often goes to the disco in Pencaster, returning late at night, to waken the valley with the roar of his bike.
Personality
He is lithe and energetic; handsome and popular with the ladies. He is also a hard-working farmer, helping out the Pottages as their farm hand and assistant at Greendale Farm.
He is also helpful to those around him, such as Pat, especially whenever they are in trouble. On several occasions, he often helps Pat whenever his van got stuck in the mud with his tractor. Whenever an avalanche of snow or earth came about in bad weather, Peter equipped his tractor with a bulldozer blade to clear the roads for the drivers around the valley.
Job
Peter works as a farm hand at Greendale Farm. He also works as a shepherd for the Pottages.
Attire
He is shown to be sun-browned and has a full sideburn beard. Throughout his appearances, he is shown wearing a white woolly sweater with a brown vest with several badges on it. He is often shown wearing a deerstalker hat when he goes around. Whenever he rides his bike he wears a distinctive bike helmet with goggles on it.

- In Postman Pat's sister series "Gran", Peter Fogg's puppet was used as Alf the Butcher, who also rode a motorbike.
- In books he had two dogs called Bess and Ben. He also has a wife called Jenny, and a daughter named Caroline.
- According to Ivor Wood, he was originally going to be depicted with a Zapatta moustache.
- He, along with Sam Waldron and Granny Dryden were on an Infomania fact-checking sheet from the Guardian in a section called "CSI Greendale", a parody of the TV series, CSI. In the sheet, Peter Fogg was jokingly referred to as a "dodgy farmer who kept his wife hidden indoors".
- Despite being described as having brown eyes, he has black pupils in the series.
- He is revealed to be 21 years old on Ivor Wood's website, making him as one of the few young adult/college student-aged characters to appear in the series.
- Bill Thompson was originally considered to be one of the few young adults, at age 25. However his age was reduced to 11 years old to make him fit in with the rest of the schoolchildren characters.
