Postman Pat and the Runaway Train is the eighth episode of Postman Pat Season 4. It was written by George Tarry.
Summary[]
Reverend Timms accidentally starts the Greendale Rocket without Ajay on board, with Mrs. Goggins, Bonnie, Dorothy, Bill and Julian on board in the coach and Jess on the cab with the Reverend, so Pat and P.C. Selby race to the rescue in P.C. Selby's Panda Car, while Ajay and Jeff give chase to the Rocket on the Trolley.

Goofs[]
- There is no fade-in-from-black effect before the title card of the episode.
- PAT 1 is missing its rear number plate at the beginning of the episode.
- In some shots, Julian is wearing his jacket but at other times, he has it tied round his waist.
- In a few shots, the Reverend's eyes and hair are not arranged in the correct position.
- When Jeff and Ajay take the trolley out of the shed, they suddenly appear out of nowhere.
- The mail truck of the Greendale Rocket keeps facing in different directions.
- When the train passes Alf both times, Bill and Alf are missing their eyebrows.
- At one point Ajay and Jeff pass a lake, but the opening titles indicate that over the wall from the lake is a road not the railway.
- When Ajay says 'Oh, no!' the second time his mouth doesn't move.
- In the close up of the couplings, the Rocket is going forwards, because the stock footage is not reversed.
