  • Going by production order, this is the third episode of the fourth season.
  • A reference to Postman Pat and the Greendale Rocket is made.
  • The water that splashes over P.C. Selby is actually cling film.
  • This is the second time Pat gives Doctor Gilbertson a lift in his van. The first was in The Sheep in the Clover Field.
  • Ted references the 1978 film "Grease" when they fix the car
  • Pat's tuba from Postman Pat and the Tuba, the clay tin from Postman Pat Misses the Show, the cuckoo clock from the "Gran" episode "Grandmother Clock" and Gran's lawn mower from the "Gran" episode "Gran's Goat" can all be seen in Ted's Mill. The air tank from the “Bertha” episodes "The Flying Bear", "The Big Order" and "Tom’s New Friend" is also out the back.
  • This is the first episode where a character cries tears of happiness.
  • This episode features Dr Gilbertson’s birthday song.

Goofs[]

  • Doctor Gilbertson was talking as if she had never had a car before, even though in "The Sheep in the Clover Field", she admitted to having one which was being serviced.
  • When Ted shows Pat the car, he is suddenly wearing a scarf for some unknown reason even though it’s not cold.
  • Lucy, Julian and Sarah's lips do not move when they laugh at Sarah's first line in their song.
  • When Lucy says "It just needs something at the end to finish it off." you can see a sudden end in her wrist.
  • Despite his cold which Doctor Gilbertson mentioned earlier on in the episode, Alf is still able to help out with the tea party on the Green.
  • Bill Thompson is not at the party even though his parents are.
  • When Ajay and Ted arrive at the party with the car, Sara, Dorothy and Meera have disappeared from the celebrations.
