- This series introduces Angela Griffin to the cast.
- This is the first series to feature Amy Wrigglesworth and Pumpkin.
- For some unknown reason, the first half of this series is often counted as Series 7 and the second half is counted as Series 8, even though each episode comes directly after each other each week day.
- Anji Kreft and Jimmy Hibbert get credited in some episodes, but they have never been known to play a part in the show. However, Hibbert did do a voice over promo for the DVD and video release of Postman Pat, Clowns Around! and Spot the Signs: How to spot the signs of cat pain, with Jess the Cat in 2011. He also narrated the Postman Pat’s Fun Run CD.
