The Yellow Tractor was Alf Thompson's main tractor during the first and second series. Peter Fogg has also driven it in Postman Pat takes a Message and Postman Pat's ABC. Miss Hubbard once drove it in Postman Pat's Tractor Express to give Pat a lift up to the Gate Hill Waterfalls.

The plating covering its engine is painted yellow. Its seat and driving wheel arches are red and it has blue hub caps.

Trivia[]
- Like The Red Tractor, the Yellow Tractor’s sounds are real life recordings of a Ferguson tractor which can be found in the BBC Sound Effects Library.
- In early books by John Cunliffe, Alf drove a blue tractor with a cab roof. However the Yellow Tractor did appear in the book "Postman Pat and the Mystery Thief" (based on Postman Pat and the Magpie Hen) and it was driven by George Lancaster.
- It greatly resembles a Massey Ferguson 100 Series, together with The Red Tractor.
- Both the Yellow Tractor and the Red Tractor both shared the same model. The only difference being that the plating surrounding the engine would have to be swapped.
